How It Works

Here’s how optional line items work inside quote•hapily — step by step:

  1. Create a Quote: A sales rep creates a new quote from a HubSpot deal using a quote•hapily template that includes the optional line item module
  2. Add Products: The rep adds products or services from the HubSpot product library — just like they normally would.
  3. Mark Items as Optional: In the quote builder, there's a new "Optional" column. The rep simply checks off which line items should be optional. (You can move or customize this column as needed.)
  4. Send the Quote: Once published, the quote looks like any other HubSpot quote — until the customer interacts with it.
  5. Customer Selects Add-Ons: On their end, the customer can check or uncheck the optional items. The total updates automatically as they go.
  6. Finalize the Quote: When they’re happy with their selection, they click “Finalize Quote.” This triggers a behind-the-scenes update in HubSpot, adding the selected items to the deal.
  7. Everything Updates Automatically: The quote reflects exactly what the customer chose. E-signature, payment links, terms — all of it is synced. On the HubSpot side, the deal record now shows which optional items were selected and added.
